Please keep in mind, that at least for now, webfacing is still counted against your interactive CPW.
The 500 CPW is mostly batch.  Websphere app server is pretty much a CPW hog.

The folllowing link may help with sizing the correct system.

My opinion is that web facing is still a "young" product.  I can see it getting much better and maybe to a point where it will not count against your interactive CPW.

Another question along these lines, now that you brought this up, theminimumrequirement of 500 CPW; is that total, just interactive, or just batch -We are awaiting with baited breath a new 820, but the interactive is 120,leaving us with 480 for batch (for a total of 600cpw).I have been holding off on a rather complicated interactive SRP "system" ofprogramsthat I thought I could just webface, writing them all as cgi's could getcomplicated, and splitting out the business logic from the i/o is going to take longerthan I havebeen allotted to work on the project, so we decided to wait and see - am Igoing to haveto got the route of cgi anyhow???-----Original Message-----From: owner-web400@midrange.com [mailto:owner-web400@midrange.com]OnBehalf Of bdietz@3x.comSent: Tuesday, July 17, 2001 8:16 AMTo: WEB400@midrange.comSubject: Re: Beginner with Websphere and WDT400I have had some luck testing a small application. the major hurdle willbe the Websphere app server. Make sure you read the web site a get everyPTF they mention. Be warned that the minium required CPW for WAS is about500!!. That equals big bucks.Bryan Dietz"Carolyn S.
