What timely info! We're in the midst of a migration between two 400s, and this
info was exactly what I needed to make
things work... I just have to export my repository to the new box....

thanks!

Subject: RE: [WEB400] Adminclient - cannot connect to iSeries

Is there a firewall between the PC and the iSeries?

Is the name of the iSeries spelt EXACTLY in the PC startup as in
EJSADMIN/BINDI00001? Is that spelt exactly like the HOSTNAME on CFGTCP
option 12? If not, you may have to endsbs qejbsbs, dltlib ejsadmin, copy
admin.properties from ProdData into UserData, re-set your UserData
admin.properties to "install.initial.config=true" and re-start qejbsbs. I
had to do this because I had a repository mis-match: an old "standard"
install on the 400 created the repository and when we installed the Advanced
version, we were left with the old repository. I read about this in the
Websphere news group. Use http://groups.google.com to search for "admin
console won't connect" or the like.
