Yes, UDDI is mostly a joke right now, but SOAP and web services are actually
useful today. It's unlikely that most web services would ever find their way
into a UDDI registry, after all why would (in my example) a book publisher
what to let everyone know the URL for the availability service? Private
registries, or just an e-mail with the service details, are a more likely
way to let people know about the services available.
