Tim, the tools you mention sound great and your input will remain a valuable
resource as others scour the archives in the future.  Yes I did ask for
business applications and I think you made a great point when you said
"core" RPG programs.  Our "core" system consists of 300+ database files and
1,200 RPG programs in about 1.1 million lines of code.

The challenge thus far has been to "re-write" this entire system using "new
technology"....Java and Oracle to be specific.  We havn't really started yet
but there has been alot of talk.

So what I was asking at the beginning of this thread was what iSeries users
were doing beyond RPG CGI, then finally at the end was for examples of real
full blown "large" applications written in these "new" technologies.  Java
and XML sound great but I've never seen any real business systems running in
these environments.  I'm sure it's been done but at what cost and quality.

You and me both know the power and capabilities of the iSeries...heck UPS
I'm told (by my CE) has 12 model 840s running their business!
