Hi Joel,

Thanks, you got it in one.  I put the log files in a directory off the root
and it now starts fine.  It's interesting that it was able to create the
file in QSYS.LIB, and add a member, before it failed.  That and the fact
that the conversion program didn't flag it as a problem led me to believe it
would work; presumably the manual would've told me otherwise, but the error
message sure doesn't.

OTOH, the new *ADMIN instance is a whole lot better in V5R1 than V4R5, IMO.
