This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] After spending hours searching job logs, then the archives and IBM's ptf list, I wanted to add to our history of what causes http 500 errors. My http server threads would end with no error indicated in the log. The pgm would never be called. The message on screen was a "script error" calling my pgm. The reason: in a cgi get, my url string exceeded 1400 characters. (I knew of the limit, but didn't consider it because expected msg in joblog). At v4r5 SF66864 fixes logging and not crashing the server thread. jim franz --
