You could look at the WRKMSGQ command. Bring up the ID you want to modify such as QSYSOPR and try changing the message que to use *NOTIFY or *BREAK. Send a message to the changed message que and see if you like the result. Actually it is the delivery parameter in the CHGMSGQ command. *Notify sends a visual and audio signal. I think *Break would actually interrupt the job if that person were signed on. Each user ID has a corresponding message que by default. User ID Message Que Bobby Bobby At least it does on our systems. Good luck. If you just want to get someones attention one time try SNDMSG and use F4 to prompt. Use CMD10 for additional options and try some like changing Message type to *INQ which prompts them for a reply...
