So.....I have a question then about configuring Reverse Proxy.... Two questions really..... #1 - In the "Proxy Requests to Remote Servers" area of the configuration page in HTTP *ADMIN.....there are three fields: Request Type; Local Virtual Path; Remote Server URL; I can figure out Request Type; and Remote Server URL; However, I am not sure what to put in the "Local Virtual Path" field. If my IP address to this server was http://192.168.254.106...... and I wanted to point to http://192.168.254.101 what would I put into these fields? #2 - Because I have Reverse Proxy running on one HTTP Server, do I ALSO need Forward Proxy enabled on the remote HTTP Server? I'm thinking NOT...but thought I'd ask. Thanks in advance! Without giving up anything; contrary, you might win additional security. That would be Apache running on the third partition acting as reverse proxy for the production HTTP server running on the second partition. Then you have the HTTP server on your production machine, which makes life a lot easier. And you can take advantage of Apache's caching. See the draft redbook SG246716 "HTTP Server (powered by Apache)" at http://publib-b.boulder.ibm.com/Redbooks.nsf/RedpieceAbstracts/sg246716.html?Open (download the pdf) You can set up this on the very same machine as well as on two different partitions / machines. So you could start today. -- Mit freundlichen Grüssen / best regards Anton Gombkötö Organisation und Projektleitung Avenum Technologie GmbH Wien - Salzburg - Stuttgart http://www.avenum.com _______________________________________________ This is the Web Enabling the AS400 / iSeries (WEB400) mailing list To post a message email: WEB400@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/web400 or email: WEB400-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/web400.
