I'm not sure what kind of shortcut your using, but it works fine for here.
I just use a normal w2k shortcut and paste the path in the target box.

I tried it but is not working. I am in W2k and I am placing the command
string
you told me in the URL box (Web Document Tab of the shortcut properties).
After executing it, I have in the address:

http://"c:/Program%20Files/Internet%20Explorer/IEXPLORE.EXE"%20-k%20http://www.yahoo.com

... and the error:
The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might
be
experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser
settings.

When I check the shortcut properties, the URL was changed to:
http://"c:/Program Files/Internet Explorer/IEXPLORE.EXE" -k
http://www.yahoo.com
