thanks a lot, that clarifies that. The heap thing seems pretty
interesting, although the 16 MB chunks remind of userspaces...

As i understand it, one defines the allocation strategy, gets the heap
storage, and can shift the pointer around in up to (almost) 4 gigabyte
without noticing the underlying change of heaps?

That would be great, and if that is true, i hate myself for missing
these APIs that were around since V2R3... But on the other hand, there
were no pointers in RPG then, so i like me again.
