Wonderful. 

Defer seems to have solved my problems.  You were obviously correct 
about the sequence of events.  Perhaps I misread the text books on this.

Its been said before, but , the Midrange lists are a wondeful resource 
with some most helpful contributors (not forgetting David who makes it 
all possible!)
