Here's some more interesting facts...

Because this was #1 on my "to do" list today, I decided to try and
re-create the application server instance.  I clicked on the option to
Create Application Server, clicked on the Next button, and proceeded to
type in the server name and description.  However, it wouldn't take the
name.  Hmm...

Trying a different name, I made it to the next step where it asks for the
HTTP server you want to attach.  Since I didn't "lose" my HTTP servers, I
decided to use it.  Clicking on Next I get a screen that says the HTTP
server is already configured for the original WAS server.  Continuing would
reconfigure the HTTP server to use the new application server.   Cancelling
out kept the association, but the application servers still don't show up
in the list.

I think it may be time to call IBM...

I've found the HTTPAdmin to be rather flaky for admining WAS servers, but
haven't run into this particular problem.  Are the servers still running in
the same subsystem?  Don't you have the adminconsole for you WASE server
running?
