I just got JSR 223 working on my test system. Now I
can run PHP pages in Tomcat with complete access to
Java classes and methods. That means I can put Toolbox
for Java classes directly in my PHP scripts.

JSR 223 is a new specification from the Java Community
process that allows scripting languages to integrate
with Java inside a Servlet container. It's not
specific to PHP. You can use other scripting
languages.

If you're interested in JSR 223, go here:
http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=223

The JSR 223 specification is supposed to work with any
Servlet container, but I have not tried it with our
WebSphere Application Server yet because that is in
our production environment.

Later,
Kelly
