I got this working. I put the mod_rewrite rules in the config and got
it working. This is what I used for the archives:

   RewriteEngine On
   RewriteLog /www/law8/logs/rewrite.log
   RewriteLogLevel 9
   RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} !=443
   RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://lawson.tc.inet$1 [R=301,L]

Does the rewrite log get included in the log rotation?
