I think it is an excellent move.  PHP is open source which means if
there is functionality or feature that doesn't exist, wait 10 minutes.
PHP feels a lot like C and JavaScript with a few things that seem like
they came from other languages....it's the best of the best wrapped up
and it gets better as time goes by.

I know we can compile and run PHP on the iSeries now, but IBM has
announced that by the end of the year all eServers will support PHP [1].
