I agree, showing a form and ensambling the mail in the server is a better option.

Rob,

If you want to force the sent email to look a certain way, you'll be
better off writing a program to send the email formatted the way you
want. About the only thing you can count on working in mailto links is
that the email address will get set. Setting the subject line works for
most email clients. Beyond that, it's a crap shot.

Agreed. If they are filling out a form, the form response should be
sent directly from the server rather than popping up their mail
client. That will avoid the issue of publishing the email address as
well.

What type of server is this? If it's an AS/400 or iSeries, I have
Net.Data samples that send email. If it's a Windows or Unix/Linux box,
it should be easy enough to find samples (you'll need to know what you
have access to language-wise) to do what you want.

Giovanni Perotti created a companion to CGIDEV2 for email, using the
QtmmSendMail API.

There are a gazillion other ways to get the iSeries to send an email,
and the issue has been beaten to death on midrange-l, and on this list
as well I think. I seem to recall some discussions about sending mail
through MSF that whizzed by my ear a few weeks ago.

There may even be a way (API calls perhaps) to use Domino directly.
