Hey Charles;

If your primary language is RPG or COBOL you also have to considder IceBreak - http://www.icebreak.us .

It is a native applicaitons server on the iSeries. You write RPG code within ASP tags and the all the session stuff i handled for you.

Try to contact Jim Cooper - jim.cooper@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx - he can jump start you with IceBreak; I know that Jim had made some order/entry like samples that you are talking about that you can use as a template.....

Regards

Niels Liisberg

Subject: [WEB400] How do I create a web page that....

I'd like to create a web page that allows a user to key in an item
number and a quantity. When they hit submit, I'd like to clear the
input boxes to allow the next item to entered and output the just
entered item underneath the input boxes.

In other words, the bottom of the web page will be a history of the
items entered on the web page during the current session.

The question is what's the easiest/best way to save and output the
history?

I can use CGIDEV2, Net.Data or Websphere but I'm new to all of it and
not sure which environment to choose or how to accomplish outputting the
history.

I could of course save the history someplace in the database, but then
I'd have to deal with figuring out when/how to delete the records and
determining current session vs. new session.

Thanks for the ideas,

Charles Wilt
