Shane,

I would think you would want to consider using a separate memory pool for
your WAS (and HTTP) servers. Using the CHGSBSD command, add a shared pool
to both the WAS (QASEn) and HTTP (QHTTPSVR) subsystems (using the same pool
number will put them into the same shared pool). Then change the routing
entries so that everything runs out of the shared pool (I believe it will
be something like CHGRTGE SBSD(xxxxxx) SEQNBR(9999) POOLID(n)). Once you
have isolated all of the processing you can adjust your memory allocation
to the shared pool (IIRC IBM recommends at least 4MB dedicated to them).
Also, the documentation I have seen recommends you actually turn automatic
performance adjustment off (QPFRADJ=0). That's how our box is set up,
although we're still in development (actually our production box is set the
same way, we just haven't put our WebFacing project into production yet
:-). Historically having your applications running in *BASE always will
cause performance hiccups.

You still should use *CALC that goes along with QPFRADJ = 2

WAS uses the *BASE pool and 2gb is not enough (in my opinion)

And with the system being a 2/4 way I think 8 gb is a little light on
memory.
(Although I do not know the entire system setup)
