And I was right.  It took about two hours to put together an application
that displays a list of libraries; most of the time involved creating the
little application program and the basic JTOpen hooks to call it.  I dumped
150 records to the page and it was nearly instantaneous.

For the fun of it, I bumped it up to 1500 records and got a 2.5 second load
time.  This is WebSphere running in the WDSC test environment on my
workstation connected to a little model 520!!! (This means all the records
have to go over the wire; it'll be interesting to see how it stacks up when
I run it on the server!)
