Thanks, Don, that worked. However, once I edit the field, I can no longer
use it for any arithmetic. It's pretty annoying that the only way to edit a
numeric field is via SQL, so I decided to call an RPG program instead. The
program accepts the un-edited number (as a character field), converts it to
numeric, edits it, then passes it back to the NetData macro. I was
concerned that this would affect performance, but it does not seem to do so.
Good ole' RPG!

Larry - I'm new to this, but this may help:

 %function(DTW_SQL) query2(out mytable2) {
@DTW_assign(DTW_EDIT_CODES "YYYY")
   SELECT tspbeg, tspw1e, tspw2b, tspend

These are 4 date fields being read in, and there is a "Y" edit code
being applied to each of the four fields. To account for a field, but
not to put an edit code on it, just use an * (placeholder) in that
relative location, e.g. "Y*Y*"

Subject: [WEB400] net.data edit codes

Does anyone know how @DTW_edit_code works? The net.data manual does not
say where to put this statement, and no matter where I put it nothing
seems to
happen. All I want to do is put commas into a numeric field returned
by a
SQL statement.
