Usualy iframes divide the complexity of the page,
It is possible to write one program that will update a main page, and the iframe (called again), but I think it will be a better idea to write one program for the main page and another one for the iframe. In case you have several different iframes, you can write a program for each, even mix CGIDEV2 with any pther tool capable of generating web pages.
Your can even use different servers to build each iframe.
