Jim,
This is done through your DNS setup... that's the first step. Then you can
either use virtual hosts and the same instance, or use a different IP
address and use a separate instance. If a different IP is used, make sure
you point the subdomain the proper IP address.
Now, if this is only intranet, it will be fairly easy. If it's Internet,
and you don't have a lot of public IPs to use then using virtual hosts will
probably be the best bet.
It's very profitable to learn how to configure Apache without the tools
provided... in the long run it will be easier. But, as far as setting up a
subdomain there will be DNS changes needed.

Subject: [WEB400] Creating a subdomain
I'm looking for some examples of how to create at subdomain via "IBM Web
administration for i5/OS" I try as I might I can't seem to find any. Maybe
because it's Monday or maybe because it's just me. I've looked in the
archives, and googled the web but not come up with anything.
We have a site x.com that I'd like to setup a subdomain of y.x.com since
site "Y" will have a different home page, but use a lot of the same
libraries, files, etc as site "X" and also that is it is configured now
under a different server.
If anyone knows where I can find some examples of setting this up; I'd
appreciate being pointed in the right direction.
