From: Aaron Bartell

Hopefully this will be modified with this January press release being
talked
about. It would make sense to give each shop a single "no additional
charge" license so they could at least see how powerful it is and start
making use of it. Then they can actually justify the cost back to their
business in programming hours saved and successfully implemented web
solutions.

Aaron (and others who are listening), please, please, PLEASE make this point
to George Farr and Bob Cancilla. I've been fighting for this forever. I've
asked that a seat for all the tools be bundled into 5722WDS and then
credited back to the Rational group.

When I first requested this, the argument was made that they couldn't get
the funds from one place to the other, but now that Rational owns both the
tooling and the compilers, there's no reason not to do this.

Note that I'm not saying unlimited seats, like we have with WDSC. Unlimited
seating is gone, and I understand that. It doesn't make fiscal sense for
IBM to have 50 developers working on a $10,000 machine (which you can
feasibly do with a model 515 and WDSC).

But if they want us to use the tools and buy more seats, they need to
include one seat with every compiler license. So PLEASE, tell Bob, email
George, call your Congressman... do whatever it takes to make sure that at
least one seat of everything is available in the box.

Joe
