I misstated the problem, sorry.  You can't log onto two the same 
authenticated service with two different IDs.  The second logon will 
wipe out the first, no matter what you do.  It does, however, leave a 
session even if you completely close the browser you are in, as long as 
you have any other Firefox instances running (including, for example, 
your download list).
