The performance tab is really interesting to me. I pointed my browser at www.mcpressonline.com and clicked a couple links and saw that 1.2 meg had been downloaded to my browser.Probably comparing a personal web site and an online magazine is a little lopsided. I'd be interested to see the results of, say, System i Network, IBM Systems Magazine and IT Jungle. My guess is that the first two will be fairly high ( and IT Jungle will be low. I think IT Jungle is largely custom code.
Another site that has a lot of images is run by Hans Boldt (http://boldts.net/), but a couple clicks into his site downloads a more modest 300kb.
MC Press would have done well if they had hired Hans to be their Web site designer.
