I actually appreciate the point. It could save some perfunctory code like we discussed last week. I just think I'd just do it differently. Not come up with with a comprehensive new tag language.

Following the Ruby on Rails mantra of convention over configuration I'd probably insert record delimeters into HTML files with record names that correspond to externally defined data structure names. And use the same approach with field delimiters and names.
