The idea is to use HATS/WebFacing as a bridge to SOA (although I don't think the WebFacing component will be getting a lot of development dollars). You can use HATS to quickly web enable key components and then chart out your strategic direction. For i shops, that typically means re-engineering work flows into callable programs and then write EGL wrappers to provide thin- and rich-client support.
