I would love to be able to use LIMIT and OFFSET but from what
I have read so far, it is not possible with DB2.

Well, DB2 may not support the LIMIT and OFFSET clauses natively, but the question is whether they're supported in the mySQL storage engine for DB2, where the application is connecting to mySQL, but storing the data in DB2.

But even if they were supported, how would performance be? It's clear that the technique is easy to use from a programming perspective, but what's going on underneath?

Nathan.
