Well, I'm glad someone likes the design. : ) My other thought was to
specify an upper limit for the number of results returned and ask them to
refine their search if they hit that limit. But, once again, what I see
as poor design, the only search field is by name. So, the user doesn't
really have a good way to refine their search.

Just to add some clarification to my response to Aaron, this specific web
service would be used by our insurance agents and brokers to find one of
their clients.

It is a client search screen and for some reason
they didn't want to implement it using paging.

God bless 'em. If I'm searching for something it annoys me to no end
that I have to page through 15 pages to find it because some developer
decided I should only see 20 items at a time. If you want to set an
(high) upper limit, I'm ok w/that, make me be more specific on my
search, but please don't make me page.
