I use PCML to call service program procedures from Java all the time and have found that judicious use of data structures is a very simple way of getting around the parameter count limit.

I came up with a technique that let me use externally described data structures (PF's on the iSeries, same ones the RPG code used) to make passing complex data from Java to RPG quite easy.
