I don't really see Bridge and NewLook as comparable - but I guess it depends on what you are trying to do.

Right now there are no tools for Bridge that correspond to Monarch - or some of the other tools out there. Zend are aware that there is a need for such tools and I'm hoping we will see changes in the future in this area. Right now - unless you have built your PHP code to "self adjust" when changes occur int he 5250 design, you will have to react to changes in field sequence or size etc. by making mods to the PHP code.

Mike Pavlak might have some comments on when things may change or if others are developing tools etc. I know of one ISV that developed their own tool for in-house use. I have no idea if they ever intend to market it.

subject: [WEB400] ZEND 5250 Bridge

I asked a former co-worker about ZEND 5250 bridge and he said they did not
like it.

They use NEWLOOK, which he thinks is much better.

I did some research over the weekend. But had a few questions. Is the only
way you can make the web pages look less generic is through cascading style
sheets? If a new field is added to the 5250 program, will the 5250 bridge
automatically pick it up?

We use ASNA Monarch, which takes the RPG and DDS and creates new code which
is then maintained by itself via the ASNA software. From what I saw over the
weekend, the only thing that that you maintain is your PHP script.

Thanks.
