I believe so.
Here is the value of MYSQLBASE
/QOpenSys/usr/local/mysql/mysql

When I start mysql interactively I use the following
CALL QP2TERM
cd /QOpenSys/usr/local/mysql/mysql
bin/mysqld_safe &

So unless I'm totally misunderstanding, the value of MYSQLBASE is
correct.
And as I say when I run the STRMYSQL interactively it starts up ok.
Its strange.

Mike

Hmmm... and the pathname in the MYSQLBASE data area is correct? It
starts with a slash, and points to the base mysql directory?

Hi Mike,

Hmmm... for some reason it's using a relative path. I don't know why
it'd do that (seems like a bad practice, as it'd look for the database

in a different place based on each user's CWD!)

What is the datadir set to in /etc/my.cnf?

Scott,
Thanks for the code. I have it downloaded but I only have it
partially working. Its probably minor, but I've been unable to
resolve the issue so far today.

After compiling all the code, and making the necessary change to the
path. I interactively ran the STRMYSQL program.
It opened up QP2shell and started the MYSQL daemon.
I was then able to open my Joomla website.
Great, its working.
I ended the MYSQL daemon and did a strsbs MYSQL.
The subsystem starts and it appears that the MYSQL daemon starts.
However, now when I try to open my website, I get the following.

jtablesession::Store Failed
DB function failed with error number 1017 Can't find file:
'./rgc/jos_session.frm' (errno: 13) SQL=INSERT INTO `jos_session` (
`session_id`,`time`,`username`,`gid`,`guest`,`client_id`
) VALUES (
'b42ac67b758591d372a7d414a57dddef','1262718581','','0','1','0' )

It seems to be a path error of some sort, but I'm confused because it

works interactively.

Looking in the log file I found this
ERROR]
/QOpenSys/usr/local/mysql/mysql-5.1.39-i5os-power-64bit/bin/mysqld:
Can't find file: './rgc/jos_session.frm' (errno: 13)

I'm not sure why its trying to point to this folder/file.

Thanks for your help and all that you do.

Mike
