Tom,

Actually the stored procedure is a CL program that sets the LIBL and
then calls an RPG program, but I don't want it to be that way for very
long. I can't wait to tell the developer. She first had it working
with i5_program and was very pleased with herself, rightfully so. I
chimed in how great it was and said "Now make it use stored procedures".
:-) But I wanted to see what, if any, were the functional differences.

I like to hike trails that are cleaned out and visibly marked.

BTW, does your stored procedure qualify the file MYFILELIB.MYFILE?

I am reading there are ways around hard-coding the library is
you are using *SQL.

My co-workers say you always have to hard code it.
I think they told me this was going to be a mild winter too....
