I read through that blog entry. Gave me a new appreciation for
STRSRVJOB+STRDBG in the RPG world.

One thing that caught my eye which made me curious is how/where is the
desktop developer authenticated to the remote production WAS instance so he
is able to remote control it? Or equally important, how are people I DON'T
want controlling a remote production instance of WAS kept away if they know
both the server name and the port?

Once again, under the heading of "I have never done this myself but I

Here is a blog post that one of the WebFacing developers did about doing a
remote run-on-server

http://wdsc.wordpress.com/2008/04/04/how-to-connect-to-a-i5os-was-instance-from-within-the-ide/

So the idea is that if you start the remote WAS in debug mode then you
should be able to do a remote debug-on-server.

If you try it then please report back as to whether it worked or not as I
am sure that others would find this useful.
