I have found that the vendor determines how painful those seminars can be.
For example, I will be doing one for Penton coming up here and will only
digress into vendor software (www.rpg-xml.com) for the last 10 minutes of a
40 minute presentation. The first 30 minutes will teach about XML from an
RPG programmers perspective.

In the end it is a good way to give out free education, have the publisher
get paid, and have the vendor get their name out there.

Just my .02 as a vendor....
