There is a web-based configuration tool for web servers. You have to STRTCPSVR *HTTP HTTPSVR(*ADMIN) first, then put something like

http://ip-addr:2001

in a browser, where ip-addr is the IP address or domain name of your iseries.

There is a Redbook about the Apache server that would be good reading.

The link to CGIDEV2 at easy400.net should also be considered. Paul Tuohy has some articles on that as well, I just don't have links. I know he gave classes at COMMON on it, as well as their own RPG & DB2 Summit.

The whole set of CGI APIs is a bit painful to work with - I'd suggest using something like a framework, like CGIDEV2 or Aaron's thing - haven't seen his RPGUI but I do trust Aaron to do good work.

Hi;

I work on a iseries system, as a rpg programmer. I have been asked by my
manager to find out what information our department should provide to Ops
Admin to set us up on the HTTP Server so we can serve web pages from the
iseries using rpg.

I have written rpg programs that serve web pages before at other
companies, and actually setup a configuration, but that was sometime ago,
and have forgotten alot. I won't be doing the setup, only need to provide
the information so admin can do their work proprly.

I know we probably need to provide the path where we will store html and
graphics on the ifs, and where to find the iseries *pgms but after that,
what else?

I was hoping someone here could provide more input.

Appreciate any help you can provlide.

Darrell
