Glad to hear it! The iDevCloud.com effort is a good one to get involved
with - I look forward to that initiative growing. Are you able to share
what you are planning to do? Also, which plan from iDevCloud.com are you
going to go with? Are you going to be hosting a website?

Subject: [WEB400] Social media and RPG

So I am dipping my toes into the social media arena with RPG. Here is an
article that just went live:
http://www.ibmsystemsmag.com/ibmi/enewsletterexclusive/35121p1.aspx

I mentioned it two weeks ago in this forum so I thought I would follow-up
with the URL.

Why did I create such a silly thing that already exists in a number of
forms? Well, I am trying to get the IBM i more publicity and prove to IBM
that they should continue to invest in RPG and do so on a more frequent
basis. Not only that but I am also trying to convince groups within IBM to
invest in getting "IBM i in the cloud" so geeks like me can run personal
websites (or side businesses, or start a new business) easily on IBM i with
low cost. I see that Chris Maxcer is also posting on this topic in his
latest blog entry:

http://blogs.systeminetwork.com/isnblogs/maxedout/2010/11/ibm_i_in_the_clouds.html

One thing that IBM has asked me (I submitted a formal requirement for IBM i
in the cloud to through the IBM ISV Advisory Council) is whether there are
more people out there that are wanting this.

Would you pay $65/month for a hosted IBM i on the latest version of the OS
with all of the compilers and DB2? Btw, $65 is the going rate to have a
virtual instance of an OS and that is what I believe IBM should shoot for.
