Much of that is personal preference but you will find the user interface 
more intuitive, and it's mainly there for managing MySQL.  both will 
work, just most folks that try Adminer continue to use it preferentially 
over phpMyAdmin.

Technically it's a smaller footprint, uses less memory (although that's 
a nitpik) etc.
