Not so much. All it would do is prove that the JDBC driver for DB2 is different than the JDBC driver for MySQL. If the Glassfish security module uses an SQL statement that is supported by MySQL and not DB2, then it won't work and it's got nothing to do with Java.

Java is far from perfect, but tossing it under the bus because of database discrepancies is hardly appropriate.
