We all develop software/solutions for businesses. Within these solutions, we believe there are a lot of "repetitive" tasks. For example, when coding, we deal with tons of LISTS or records such as STUDENTS, CLASSES, PURCHASE ORDERS, PRODUCTS, VENDORS, ORDERS, BILL OF MATERIALS, INVOICES, WARRANTY CLAIMS, EMPLOYEES, CUSTOMERS, SALES, etc.

As a web developer, your most common tasks are:
1. Display a list of records
2. Display a list of records with a filter
3. Display a list of records with a drop down pick list filter
4. From this list, allow a single record to be selected to view all fields.
5. When the list is to large, develop ability to 'page' data a set at a time.
6. From the list of records, allow associated data to be looked up. For example, from a list of customers, show the orders for a particular customer.
7. etc....

The list of generalized tasks is obviously large. What are other most common programming tasks we all face? Is my ranking correct?

Perhaps, this should be another WIKI page or even a database driven list of requirements?
