Hi Alan -

Thanks for the response.

I have a stored procedure problem. I'm not sure if it's me or the machine
(I know where the smart money goes), and I saw a problem in the Zend forum
where an upgrade made their problem go away. I thought it would be a good
idea to be current since I'm starting a new PHP project.

Since I'm on 5.2.12, I guess I need to upgrade to 5.6, which is PHP 5.3,
right? So the Zend Server versions aren't the same as the PHP versions,
right?

And an uninstall and a reinstall? Bleah...

I went to http://forums.zend.com/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=18248 and checked it
out. It had a link to
http://files.zend.com/help/Zend-Server/upgrading.htm#MiniTOCBookMark8 that
doesn't exist. Do you have a link handy to the upgrade instructions?

Thanks!

- Michael

Hmmm...can't seem to see what I need from the Zend site. I am currently
running an older version of Zend Server on my i - from phpinfo, it's PHP
Version 5.2.12. I was looking at some forum threads, and saw there was an
SP issue, and an upgrade fixed it.

Michael, do you mean a stored procedure issue? Are you experiencing this
issue?
Question: How can I tell if I'm running CE or not? I assume I want to
upgrade to the same version. I guess the question is whether a license
key
was entered, right?
Regarding CE or not, it's the same installation either way, but with
features turned on or off depending on your license level. Did you pay a
license fee to Zend for additional features and support, and then
install the licence code you were given? If so then it's the full Zend
Server. If not then you're running CE.
Question: Do I have to worry about the procedural vs. OO thing, or is
that
all resolved in 5.3 and up?
Please elaborate. What procedural vs. OO issue are you referring to?
On http://www.zend.com/en/products/server-ce/downloads, I see *Zend
Server
for IBM i (PHP 5.3), Version 5.6.0. *Is this what I want to install? And
then do I need to install *Zend Server for IBM i *5.6.0 Hotfix 5 (PHP 5.3
only)?
There's no direct "upgrade" from PHP 5.2 to PHP 5.3. You need to
uninstall PHP 5.2 first, then install PHP 5.3. (Zend Server 5.6). Then
install all hotfixes that are labeled as being for PHP 5.3. See this
thread for basic information:
