The 7.1 manual shows Alias only good for tables or views...

Perhaps you're thinking of one of these
SET [CURRENT FUNCTION] PATH =
SET SCHEMA =
SET OPTION SQLPATH =

IIRC, both the schema and path can be specified on the
JDBC connection properties..

reading about a way around this by using an alias but cannot recall the
details.

Thanks.

Hi Todd,

Are you trying to call the SP from .Net, PHP , Java ?

I would think as long as you set the default library list when connecting
with the DB drivers, then you should be able to call a SP just be name.

With SQL naming you can also qualify it with LIB.PROCNAME.

Is there any way to use SQL naming in an unqualified (no library) call to
a stored procedure and have the library list used? I seem to recall that
an alias can be used to mimic the library list behavior when using SQL
naming.

I know system naming would be much easier but that is not an option at
this time.

Thanks,
