My customer reminded me that we have to support people printing from their
home as well, not just from the Kiosks.

The web page is public and open to search.

Crap.

Consider defining that first button as something other than a print button.
Perhaps a "Preview" button? The suggestion of linked thumbnails instead of
a button was, I thought, a great idea.

The documents are already in .pdf format; build synergy from what Adobe has
already done for you. Their options have stood the tests of millions of
users; harness it.

Because you define the entire process, including the hardware and the
software, you don't have to concern yourself(yet) with programming to
tablets & smart phones, and users not having the needed plug-ins.

Yeah, at the kiosk it's very confusing when they click print and
another window opens and they have to click print again.

Is there a way on V5R4 that I could print some data using DDS, then
also send the PDF to the printer?

I put together a similar system which is why I'm offering this advice...

They system I put together for a district shows mortgages, maps, etc
in an iframe on the right, with thumbnails on the left for each page.
When they click on a thumbnail it changes the view in the iframe to
that particular page. They also have the option to rotate the image
(in case it was scanned in 90 or 180 degrees off).

There is a checkbox next to each thumbnail they can select to print.
So they select all or pages 1 and 3 and click Print. Does it print?
Nope.
It opens the PDF with the pages they selected (the default way the
PC is set up) and they can print from there from the browser or PDF
viewer.

Don't try to print the PDF from the iFrame. That's my advice. :)
Allow them to open the PDF in Adobe reader or whatver is set up as the
default PDF viewer on the system.

Are all of the sheets the same size, or some standard series of sizes?
Usually I believe they are A, B, C, & D? Each size being double the
previous size, or some similar arrangement?

Just for the fun of it I used Net Objects Fusion to make a web page
with a .pdf file I had lying around here. Hopefully this is where
you are trying to get to.

Net Objects Fusion is an HTML tool that, in my opinion, solves a lot
of problems. To do this web page it installed a plugin to display
the
.pdf
file. NOF is not free, but the last I knew it was under a $100.
There are other solutions, but this is the solution I have at hand.

They have thousands of maps that each pertain to a specific section
and
lot. So when I said they were static I meant that they do not
change, but there are many different ones.

I found some code that uses a style sheet to make the iframe display
At
100% height.

Ill be able to try it tomorrow.

I'm not sure how I could print the report as HTML. I would have to
convert the maps to HTML on the fly I guess. I looked at some
samples to do that and it looked a little involved.
