Looking for advice on best practices for a PHP development environment on
the i. Currently using Zend Server 5.1.1 (PHP version 5.3.14) and i OS
version 7.1. I have (will have) three environments: development, staging
and production. I'm using a combination of db2_connect for stored procedure
calls that return a result set, and the Toolkit for parameter based calls.
All calls (except simple SQL statements) are to procedures in service
programs.
What's the best method to create the stored procedures so they are
available in different environments? I've been fully qualifying the
creation name and external names.
Should I have them unqualified and create them with my library list set?
I'll be testing/changing the service programs and SPs.
I'm thinking of creating the service programs and SPs in a library, and
then adding that library to my library list when I make a PHP connection.
What's the best way to do this?
Thanks in advance...things are working, but now I need to make them more
flexible.
