Thanks Kevin.
I just figured out the Chrome javascript debugger and that led me to solve my initial problem.
I wasn't writing my key field to the HTML(I don't display it in my green screen version, so I didn't write it out in the CGIDEV2 version.
I placed it in a hidden field and it seems to be working now. Now to the next step of trying to modify a record.

By the way, in my opinion, the best way to debug javascript is via the developer tools in Google Chrome, followed closely by the Firebug plug-in for Firefox. In fact, most browsers now have developer tools that allow this - even IE (albeit the worst of the bunch).

Mike

Not sure if you downloaded the IBM version or the easy400 version. If the former, then you would be much better off downloading the latter and joining the easy400 forum. That is the place you will get decent examples and proper support. The IBM version is a dead end.

I am playing a bit with CGIDEV2 but I'm having a bit of a problem.

I have been following an example from this article http://iprodeveloper.com/rpg-programming/business-quality-rpg-web-application

I have this program working, but now I've created a similar program of my own based on this code.

When I select a record to display I don't get the record I selected. I get only the first record, or sometimes I get a 'Record not found'

It appears the piece of code that determines what record is selected is a Javascript function in the HTML.

This might be obvious but how do I debug the javascript function?

Secondly, This program doesn't do all I want. I would like to be able to sort by clicking on the column headings. Does anyone have an example of how to do this?

Thanks

MIke
