In response to a "simple web" app, I would 2nd Rob's Net.Data suggestion.
Everything you need is included in the HTTP server under IBM i. The coding
and testing are seductively simple.
But as others have suggested, who deploys only one simple web application?
Will you end up needing to support multiple library lists for multiple
environments (dev, test, production, marketing) or support multiple clients
on a single server?
In response to Windows vs. IBM i, I would suggest using IBM i for web
applications. We are one shop that has hundreds of applications, but NO
Windows servers.
I recently attended a "data conference" where the IT Director indicated
that the State Office of Education had 300 employees and 200 (Windows)
servers.
