Some web service providers offer alternative interface options (ie. REST or
SOAP) and alternative output options (ie. XML or JSON). You can use
formatted templates to support multiple output options. I offer an ILE
framework. No Java. No JEE application server. Just the Apache based HTTP
server.

The following example converts Fahrenheit to Celsius and returns:

One thought is to adapt that RPG sample to call COBOL programs or
procedures. There's no simpler interface than a "call" op code; no PCML for
example.
