xml spy is your friend. So is visual studio. If your writing XSD schemas
you want an IDE with XSD auto complete. Trust me.

the express edition of visual studio is free for commercial use. Community
edition is not. It's been a while since I had to write an XSD, but I'm
sure there are cheaper, free, and OSS options.
