Has anyone heard any more news about the IBM i storage engine for MariaDB?

According to mariadb.com, the IBMDB2I storage engine built for MySQL is not supported in MariaDB.

In a story last month on itjungle.com, Pavlak mentioned that IBM is re-developing that storage engine to work with MariaDB.

We just got ZendDBi 10 with MariaDB 10 installed and I was looking at what it would take to convert our MySQL databases to use it.
Some of which are using the IBMDB2i storage engine.
