Jon,

So what you're saying is it can't resolve the IP of the $serverUrl , so
it's trying to find MX records for the recipient domain?

I never did get to see the value for $serverUrl

Using IPs is BAD. Tsk tsk... ;)

You are doing pretty much what you are doing Steve - and it works just
fine.

This is the equivalent bit of my script.

// Set for e-mail
ini_set ( "SMTP", 'xxx.yy.z.n' );
ini_set ( "sendmail_from", "info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" );
ini_set("smtp_port", "25");//define the receiver of the email

Notice that I am using the IP address of the server because the mail
server's name is not known to my system's DNS.

From the error you are getting it looks like you have the same problem -
try using the IP address instead and see if it works. If it does then you
have a DNS issue - not a php one.

what do you mean "without a mail router"? I do not have the PHP.INI
file
setup to send mail. Was hoping the PHP "ini_set" functions would take
care of that.

Looks like it's trying to send directy without a mail router if it's

to look up mail severs for the recipients domain.
